Smarting over the unemployment figures highlighted by NITI Aayog recently, the State government has directed Secretaries of all its departments to prepare point-wise details of the discussion with NITI team and also prepare a roadmap and present the same to the Chief Minister’s Office.
Unemployment and other shortcoming highlighted by the think tank headed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi during their recent visit to the State, have stirred hornet’s nest in the political circles.
Chief Minister Pramod Sawant pointed out that the unemployment figures specified by NITI are not accurate as they are based on live employment exchange register where job seekers continue to be listed even if they are gainfully employed in the private sector.
