GTDC to institutionalise annual travel agents meet

PANAJI

The Goa Tourism Development Corporation (GTDC) on Monday said its Travel Agents Meet will be institutionalised as an annual outreach initiative and announced a dedicated trade show in Gujarat along with national-level awards for top-performing travel agents, as part of efforts to deepen engagement with the travel trade.

The announcements were made at the 1st Travel Agents Meet 2026 organised by GTDC in Panaji, which brought together 55 travel agents, online travel agencies and New Tourism Service (NTS) operators from across Goa.

Tourism Minister Rohan Khaunte said collaboration with the travel trade would remain central as the State shifts focus towards quality tourism and experience-led offerings beyond beaches.

“Travel agents are our long-term partners in shaping Goa’s tourism growth story… Our focus remains on balanced tourism growth that benefits local communities, strengthens livelihoods, and enhances visitor satisfaction,” he said.

GTDC Chairman Kedar Naik said the meet would now feature annually in Goa Tourism’s calendar. He also announced the introduction of awards for the overall top-performing travel agent in India and regional toppers, aimed at recognising measurable contributions in promoting GTDC properties and services.

Officials said the meet focused on emerging markets, traveller preferences and collaborative promotion to strengthen Goa’s positioning as a diversified tourism destination.
