Post morten examination conducted on the human hand at the South District hospital has revealed that the hand must have got detached from the body due to decomposition. Fatorda police has informed that the autopsy has ruled out the possibility of the hand being severed from the body with a weapon.
He said the police will go for a DNA test as part of the investigation.The human hand was found at the parking lot of a housing colony at Ambaji Fatorda during the weekend.
Meanwhile, a young man was found drowned in the river Sal near the wholesale fish market on Monday. Fatorda police informed that identity of the accused, who is believed to be in 30's remains unknown.
The police believe that the deceased had gone for fishing at the river as evident by the fact that fishing equipment was found on the banks of the river. The police is investigating.
