Governor of Himachal Pradesh Rajendra Arlekar has been unanimously elected as the president of Youth Hostel Association of India."India is a young nation. It is our responsibility to channelise the energy of the youth in a positive and constructive way" , said Rajendra Arlekar while presiding over the national council meeting of Youth Hostels Association of India. (YHAI).
The governor Arlekar thanked members of YHAI who came from all corners of the country for reposing trust in him.
Arlekar appreciated Mohamad Shafi Pandit, outgoing National President of YHAI, who was heading the organisation for the last 11 years.
In India, YHAI has a network of more than 95 youth hostels, starting from Leh, Ladakh to the Andaman and Nicobar islands. It includes both, partnered accommodations under the Licensee Youth Hostels scheme and hostels under the direct administration of YHAI.
YHAI has global reach in 90 countries also.
