Union AYUSH Minister Shripad Naik, who was admitted at Goa Medical College and Hospital in Bambolim on January 11 after his vehicle met with a horrific road accident, was wheelchaired out in the open for the first time on Tuesday under close observation of GMC doctors. He expressed confidence that he will be discharged from the hospital by the next week.
Naik’s vehicle had met with an accident on January 11 at Hillur- Hoskambi village in Ankola, Karnataka. Naik’s wife,Vijaya and his close aide, Deepak Ghume, lost their lives in the mishap.
“After many days, I saw the daylight. I am recovering today due to your prayers,” he said.
Naik has requested his well-wishers not to visit GMC to enquire about his health.
“I will be out of the hospital in the next four to five days and I will meet everyone.There is no need to make haste. I am doing well. I was brought out in the open air for the first time today. It means my health is improving rapidly,” Shripad stated.
Meanwhile, Prime Minister Narendra Modi called Naik for the second time on Tuesday for an update about his recovery.
