Irani to launch National Women's Parliament today

Union Minister for Women and Child Development Smriti Irani will inaugurate the two-day National Women’s Parliament (NWP) conclave which is being held at the Shyamaparasad Stadium at Bambolim on Monday and Tuesday.

Aimed at providing a platform to encourage and enable the social, political and economic empowerment of women in all stratas of the society, it is part of the collaborative effort of the Goa government and the Goa legislative assembly as part of the 60th anniversary celebrations of Goa's liberation. Over 2,500 participants have registered for the conclave where spot registrations will also be permitted. 

Two other conclaves -- Panchayat Parliament and Youth Parliament -- are also be organised as part of the Goa @60 celebrations themed as 'Celebration of Democracy' until November 12.

The State's legislature department has tied up with MIT School of Government of India to organise the events.
