Accused Yellappa Karbal, 46, from Khareband Margao and native of Bagalkot Karnataka stabbed another labourer Kumar, 45, of Khareband Margao to death and ran away at about 23.15 hrs on October 3.
The LIB team of Goraknath Gawas HC Dilkush Velip, PC Vishal Prabhu, PC Kalpesh Kholkar under the guidance of PI Sachin Narvekar managed to apprehand the accused hiding at KRC station with able support of PSI Sagar Dhatkar, PSI Vishwajit Dhavlilar and HC Shamir on Sunday.
The murder took place at midnight when the accused stabbed the deceased with a knife.
The accused owed Rs 1,000 to the deceased, who was stabbed when asked to return his money. The victim died on the way to Hospicio hospital.
