Kerala man held with drugs in Mandrem

PANAJI: In a continued crackdown on drugs in Goa, the Anti Narcotic Cell (ANC), Panaji, arrested a 27-year-old man from Kerala during a raid at Mandrem and seized contraband worth about Rs 50,000.  

The accused, identified as Kamaludeen T N, was caught red-handed with 5.5 grams of suspected hydroponic ganja, five ecstasy tablets weighing 2.2 grams, and four LSD blot papers weighing 0.06 grams. Police also recovered Rs 9,000 in cash. The total value of the seized drugs and cash is estimated at Rs 59,000.  

A scooter allegedly used by the accused in the offence was also seized. On Saturday, the court remanded him to four days of police custody for further investigation.

Missing Orlim boy found safe at Fatrade beach

MARGAO: Colva Police have traced a minor boy who went missing from Orlim on Monday morning. After receiving a call about the missing boy, police formed teams with beat staff and deployed personnel at Varca, Majorda and Colva beaches as part of a search operation. The boy was finally found at Fatrade beach on Saturday afternoon. He was later handed over to his parents at the Colva Police Station.
