Stating that Michael Lobo when he was the chairman of the NGPDA misused his official position to delay granting of permission for a construction licence, Aam Aadmi Party demanded immediate action against the minister based on the orders passed by the former Lokayukta.
“There are two different letters under the same inward no 1231 dated March 21, 2018 and with same reference number. The Lokayukta made clear observations that second letter was manufactured and planted in the records of NGPDA with connivance of panchayat,” said Surel Tilve, AAP spokesperson.
“Why are there two letters with the same inward number? What were the intentions? This is a clear case of forgery and a case must be booked under Section 420 of IPC against Lobo,” he alleged.
He said the Chief Minister should stop protecting the corrupt and immediately sack Michael Lobo as minister or alternatively, Lobo should resign as the minister.
He alleged that the former sarpanch and ex-secretary of the panchayat manufactured a protest letter against the construction as per the advice of NGPDA.
“What was the urgency of procuring a handwritten protest letter? Who was giving advice to panchayat from NGPDA office? If you go through the order details of Lokayukta, it is evident the Michael Lobo had wrong intentions,” the AAP spokesperson said.
He said the former Lokayukta was very valid in pointing out that Lobo was unfit to be a minister.
“If he is up to such kind of forgery and is in the habit of abusing power, he will create more problems for Goans,” Tilve alleged.
The AAP spokesperson slammed the ports minister for questioning the credentials of the former Lokayukta who passed several orders on public functionaries.
“Michael Lobo as an MLA and minister make laws in the assembly. And Lokayukta is a law made by the MLAs and ministers. Lobo questioning who Lokayukta is clearly indicates that he is unfit,” Tilve alleged.
He said Section 16 A of the Lokayukta Act gives right to the Lokayukta to declare any public functionary unfit.
