Local farmers to sell produce under one roof, says Agriculture director

Director of Agriculture Nevil Alphonso said the Krishi Ghar would enable local farmers sell agriculture produce under one roof, besides providing facilities like cold storage unit, demonstration plot for field and horticulture crops, nursery and exhibition plot.

Providing details about the Krishi Ghar, Alphonso said this agriculture complex will be built on 7,000 sq mts of land at an estimate cost of Rs 6 crore.

“The first phase of the complex will have a ground plus two floors. This building will comprise a fertilizer store, seed store, administration section, seminar cum multipurpose hall, record room and guest room.”

“The Second Phase will have a Farmers Market complex with cold storage unit, market complex for local farmers to sell agriculture produce under one roof, demonstration plot for field and horticulture crops, nursery and exhibition plot,” he said.
