Chief Minister Pramod Sawant on Tuesday expressed confidence that the upcoming inspection at Kalsa-Bhandura canal site will place “the real facts before the Supreme Court”.
CM Sawant was commenting on the latest media reports about drying up of the Kalsa-Bhandura canal waters.
He informed that Goa has already appointed its engineer on the joint committee to carry out an inspection at the canal site as per Supreme Courts order.
The committee has been mandated to find out whether the water is being diverted by Karnataka towards Malaprabha basin. The four weeks’ time given to the committee is scheduled to conclude on March 22.
“Supreme Court has given four weeks to conduct the inspection and submit the report. Goa has already appointed its engineer. But Karnataka and Maharashtra have yet to appoint their engineers. We are sure that whatever the real facts are, will come before the Supreme Court,” CM told reporters.
He further stated, “after this, all facts and proof will be presented before SC and the court will make the right decision.”
