Minor girl goes missing from Sancoale

A minor girl from Sancoale has been reported missing after she allegedly left her residence without informing her family and failed to return home.

According to Verna police, the complaint was lodged by the mother of the minor girl, a native of Karnataka currently residing at Sancoale.

In her complaint, the mother stated that on February 3 prior to 6 pm, her minor daughter left the house without informing any family members. Despite efforts to trace her, the girl has not returned home till February 17.

Fearing foul play, the complainant has expressed strong suspicion that an unknown person may have kidnapped her daughter from her lawful guardianship.

Based on the complaint, Verna police have registered an offence under Section 137(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and Section 8 of the Goa Children’s Act.

Further investigation is being carried out by PSI Rajdatt Arsekar of Verna Police Station under the supervision of PI Anand Shirodkar and the guidance of Mormugao DySP Gurudas Kadam.
