Navelim MLA and Chairman of Rumdamol Davorlim Education Society Ulhas Tuenkar on Sunday mulled setting up a school for the benefit of the rural students hailing from the constituency.
Speaking at a felicitation programme organised for a student on Sunday, the MLA said the society was formed by like-minded individuals with the avowed objection to give a boost to the education in the villages.
He unveiled the society’s plans to impart education from the kindergarten to the Primary section and secondary section to the higher secondary section in the future.
“Many students from the rural areas of Navelim are forced to take admissions in other villages and towns in South Goa. Hence, the education society has been formed to impart education right from KG to higher secondary sections in the future,” he said.
Speaking on the occasion, Rajya Sabha MP Vinay Tendulkar extended his full support to the Navelim MLA and his education society’s plans to impart education in the constituency. Tendulkar has suggested to the MLA to start the school in a building leased from the government.
