Need for change in Margao for ease of doing business: CM

MARGAO
Chief Minister Pramod Sawant has exuded confidence that Margao constituency will go in the BJP kitty when the Electronic Voting Machines are opened for counting after the February 14 polls.

Addressing businessmen from Margao at a city hotel along with party Margao candidate, Dy Chief Minister Manohar Ajgaonkar, the Chief Minister told the businessman that there’s a need for a change in Margao to ensure ease of doing business.

Charging Kamat for neglecting the commercial capital during the last 27 years he has been representing the city, the Chief Minister said Margao has no master plan in place to plan for the commercial capital for the next 25 years, saying even a smaller town like Sanquelim has a master plan in place.

Pointing out that Margao is faced with a host of burning issues, the Chief Minister said these issues should have been resolved when Kamat was the Chief Minister of the State for five long years. “The Opposition leader should explain Madgavkars why issues such as Sonsodo, garbage mess, sewerage, parking are all still pending in the commercial capital. These issues should have been resolved by Kamat when he was the Chief Minister for five long years,” he said.

He added: “Many people ask whether the Margao MLA is shaky in his constituency this time round. I want to tell that the people of Margao will cent per cent send the Congress candidate home and elect Ajgaonkar to the Assembly.”
