New footpath up to Duler stadium

MAPUSA

The Public Works Department (PWD) has announced plans to construct a new footpath along the State highway on the right side, extending from court junction to the Duler football stadium for a distance of 650 metres.

The project, which includes the construction of retaining walls, has been awarded to M/s Adhav Infra Projects Pvt Ltd at a cost of Rs 1.15 crore.

A PWD engineer expressed gratitude to the Braganzas of Mapusa, for their generous contribution. The Braganzas have voluntarily agreed to provide a portion of their land adjacent to the highway for this public project. Additionally, the agriculture department has also allocated land for the footpath construction.

This new initiative follows the successful completion of a footpath on the left side of the same highway last year, further enhancing pedestrian safety and accessibility in the area.
