MARGAO
Nuvem MLA Wilfred D’Sa has dashed off a letter to Chief Minister Pramod Sawant with a plea to ensure supplies of beef to the people of Goa in view of the ensuing Christmas and New Year festivities.
In a letter addressed to the Chief Minister, the Congress-turned-BJP MLA has said the law banning slaughter of cattle in Karnataka has disrupted supplies of beef meat to Goa from the neighbouring state.
He told the media that beef is presently out of the platter of beef eating Goans, pointing out that beef is an important component of the menu during major festivals in the State.
“I have requested the Chief Minister to make arrangements for the supply of beef to the people during the ensuing Christmas and New Year festivities,” he said, while exuding confidence that the government will work out a solution to the issue.
Meanwhile, D’Sa pointed out that he had written to the Chief Minister to explore the possibility of coming out with a SOP increasing the number of devotees for the midnight and other Masses in the Churches across the state on the occasion of Christmas.
