A 43-year-old man died after being bitten by a snake near his house at Mhauswada-Pernem.
Sunil Sawal, who hailed from Revora, noticed a snake near his house and picked it thinking it was non-poisonous.
The snake bit him but Sunil managed to put the snake in a jar, before falling unconscious.
He was taken to a hospital but he died along the way. The body has been sent to Goa Medical College for an autopsy.

Residents have been urging the railway authorities to address the drainage issues, as the underpass often floods due to poor water drainage.
