Pall of gloom in Ambaulim, Balli as families mourn death of young sons

A pall of gloom descended in Balli and Ambaulim villages of Quepem taluka on Sunday as the mortal remains of the two deceased constables were brought to their respective homes for the last rites.

The two families lay shattered as they lost their only bread earners in the tragic accident. Constable Vishwas Deykar has left behind two young daughters and wife, besides parents.

On the other hand, wife of deceased constable Shailesh Gaonkar is pregnant and due for delivery. Sources said she was admitted in a hospital a day ago and was brought home on Sunday to pay last respects to her husband.

Balkrishna Deykar, father of deceased constable Vishwas, said his son had joined the police force around 11 years ago. His only son and earning member, he said has left behind two young daughters, besides wife.
