A prominent politician from North Goa has been issued a notice in connection with the conversion of agricultural land at Guirim and an illegal bungalow on the land.
Congress leader Sanjay Barde had sent a written complaint against the politician, stating he had illegally constructed a bungalow on agricultural land at Guirim and also converted the said land illegally, to the Chief Secretary and Panchayat Secretary.
Barde had submitted copies of his complaint to the revenue department, district collector, deputy district collector, mamlatdar, block development officer, and town planning department and asked them to take appropriate action.
The complaint states that the illegal bungalow has been constructed on agricultural land without taking permission from the TCP department or panchayat.
Based on the complaint, the Bardez Mamlatdar’s office had directed the Panchayat talathi to visit the construction site for inspection, and to make a check list and to submit the report.
The local talathi visited the site and submitted a report for further action. The deputy town planner has sent a letter to the Sarpanch and panchayat secretary of Guirim to take appropriate action according to the Panchayat Raj law.
Acting on the directives, the Guirim panchayat issued a notice to the politician.
