The planned disconnection of water supply to the housing colony at Ramnagri in Sao Jose de Areal village by the PWD, water supply was kept on hold after the Sewerage Infrastructure Development Corporation of Goa Ltd (SIDCGL) maintained that the work on connecting the colony to the underground sewage line will be completed in a fortnight.
A senior PWD, water supply officer told The Goan that though the PWD had planned to disconnect the water supply of the 150-odd households, the plan was put off after the SIDCGL pointed out that the ongoing work of connecting the housing colony will be complete within 15 days.
“We have decided to keep the water supply disconnection on hold for the moment since the SIDCGL has said the work should be over within a fortnight. We had also discussed the issue with our higher ups, but we have not received any further directions on the water disconnection issue”, he said.
