Rebirth of Hospicio’s maternity ward at district hospital

MARGAO
Perhaps for the first time in recent history, Hospicio Hospital’s busiest ward, the maternity ward, has finally moved out from the congested environs of the over 150-year hospital to the spacious South Goa district hospital.

In fact, the district hospital has recorded two new-born babies in the last 24 hours since the maternity ward was shifted to the new premises.

The Pediatric Ward and the Special New-Born Care Unit (SNBC) too has been shifted to the new district hospital, with doctors expressing joy over the shifting and the spacious arrangement at the district hospital.

While the new-born babies are hale and hearty, a couple of infants are being taken care of at the special new-born care unit.

A doctor remarked that this was the day when the health care workers attached to Hospicio Hospital were looking forward to all these years. “We hope the entire Hospicio services will be shifted to the new district hospital within the time-frame in the interest of the patients as well as the doctors”, remarked the doctor.
