Restaurant owner booked for loud music in Arpora

Anjuna police registered a case against the owner of a restaurant in Arpora on charges of violating noise pollution rules by playing a loud music without permission. Police took this action on at about 11 pm on Sunday, a police on patrol noticed loud music being played at the restaurant ‘Birch By Romeo Lane Goa’.

Police sought permission from the competent authority to play music, but the restaurant could not provide the permission. The police then stopped the music at the restaurant.

A case was registered against restaurant owner Mohit Rana (32) of Delhi under Section 5 of Prevention of Noise Pollution Act and Section 15 of Environment Protection Act. Police also seized the DJ mixer controllers and speakers used for music.

Further investigation is being conducted by Deputy Superintendent of Police Sandesh Chodankar.
