A proposal of Rs 52 lakh has been approved by the government for the immediate repairs of the Thane Government Secondary School building, while a proposal of Rs 42 lakh has been approved to erect a fence around this building.
According to sources, the late Hirojirao Baburao Desai Government Secondary School in Thane in Poriem constituency was in urgent need of repairs. The parents had demanded repairs of the school and a proposal to this effect was submitted to the Panchayat and Poriem MLA Deviya Rane.
The proposal was then sent to the PWD and it was approved to sanction Rs 52 lakh for the immediate repair of the School building. Similarly, the school had also demanded a fence around the school for better safety and security in the premises, and to prevent stray cattle from destroying the garden in the school. The Poriem MLA also submitted a proposal to the government and Rs 42 lakh has been approved to erect a fence around this building.
When contacted, Dr Rane said efforts are being made to develop the Thane Government Secondary School. “Since the last four years, this school has been getting cent per cent results and it is my duty to resolve the problems confronting the school. The funds for the repairs of the school will solve the issue of leakages during monsoons,” said Rane.
