Sanghatit Kankonkars set to celebrate Shiv Jayanti

Sanghatit Kankonkars will hold a dindi-padyatra at Chaudi as part of Shiv Jayanti celebrations on Monday.

The dindi mirvanuk will begin at Maruti-mandir (a Gumti) near Canacona Post Office, to culminate at Shiv Smarak (Shivaji statue) at KTC Bus-Stand, where all the participating dindi groups will give individual performances, after a brief programme of garlanding the statue of Chatrapathi Shivaji Maharaj.

Navelim MLA and KTCL Chairman Ulhas Tuenkar will be the Chief Guest and the Shiv Jayanti celebrations will be attended and addressed by Speaker and Canacona MLA Ramesh Tawadkar, Canacona Municipal Council Chairperson Ramakant Naikgaunkar, informed Sanghatit Kankonkar’s in a press meet at Chaudi.  

Appealing to the Shiv bhakts and Shiv premis to attend in large numbers, Pankaj Naikgaunkar informed, alongwith dhol-padak, dindi and dindi-padkam, the padyatra will begin at Maruti mandir and proceed to the Shiv smarak, where a fireworks display and other activities will be held.  One Natak sponsored by  Chaudi Ganeshotsav Mandal, will also be presented.

Some of the dindi participants will be Vithal Rukmai Varkari Mandal Palolem, Vithal Rukmai Devkipurush (Rajbag), Dhol-Pathak, who will also give individual performances at Shiv smarak (outside KTC bus-stand).

Nandip Bhagat informed that one year has been completed for the installation of the Shivaji bust at KTC Bus-Stand complex, Chaudi.

Ashok Dhuri appealed to the Shiv bhakts to maintain dress code with white kurta during the procession and later.

Nandip Bhagat, Sanji Pagui, Dilkush Shet Dessai, Sudarshan Dessai, Balesh Desai, Dharmendra Pagui, Vijay Bhaireli, were also present during the press briefing.
