Chief Minister Pramod Sawant is likely to present the 2025-26 State Budget on March 25.
The three-day Budget session of the Goa Legislative Assembly is scheduled from March 24 to 26. Sawant, who holds the Finance Portfolio, is expected to table the State Financial Statement on March 25, while the Budget would be passed during the monsoon session in July.
Meanwhile, total 728 questions have been raised by the MLAs for the three-day session of which 180 are starred while another 548 are unstarred.
Sources informed that the last date for submission of the questions has ended.
The Business of the House will be decided during the Business Advisory Committee (BAC) meeting which is yet to be scheduled.
The Opposition parties have criticised the government over the short tenure of the budget session.
Leader of Opposition Yuri Alemao claimed the issues of "corruption, job scams, financial mismanagement and the collapse of law and order" have forced the BJP to keep the session short.
The decision for only a three-day session suggests the government is afraid of facing the opposition and is evading its responsibility to deliver justice to the people, the Congress leader alleged.
