Siblings from Curchorem drown at Canaguinim Beach

In a tragic incident, two siblings from Curchorem lost their lives after drowning at Canaguinim Beach in Canacona.

According to reports, 10-year-old Shlok Naik and his elder sister, 17-year-old Sanika Naik, had gone to the beach with a relative when the mishap occurred. Shlok is believed to have gotten into difficulty while in the water, following which Sanika entered the sea in an attempt to rescue her younger brother.

Both siblings soon began to struggle in the water. Lifeguards on duty rushed to their aid and pulled them out.

Shlok was declared dead due to drowning. Sanika was rescued and immediately shifted to the Goa Medical College and Hospital (GMC) for treatment, where she later succumbed.
