The Special Intensive Revision (SIR) in Goa is underway in full swing, with over 64 per cent of electoral forms being distributed to the voters within the first three days of the exercise.
After almost 23 years, the SIR of electoral rolls kicked off in Goa, along with 11 other States, from November 4. According to the Chief Electoral Office (CEO), as of 4 pm on Thursday, a total of 7,65,919 enumeration forms, that is 64.33 per cent of the total of 11,85,034 electors in Goa, were distributed.
“The SIR is in full swing with the field visits of Booth Level Officers (BLOs), BLO Supervisors and the election officials, BLAs appointed by the political parties and the volunteers are working tirelessly at the grassroots level to ensure that no eligible elector is left out,” the CEO said.
As many as 1,725 BLOs are going house to house to distribute and help the electors to fill out their Enumeration Forms, while 919 volunteers are also working in the field to facilitate the elderly, PwDs, sick and vulnerable populations in the SIR process.
The month-long exercise will end on December 4, with the draft electoral roll to be published on December 9 for necessary corrections, if any.
As per the schedule, the applicants can file their claims and objections from December 9 to January 8, 2026, while the notice phase, including issuance, hearing and verification, will be done till January 31.
