St Cruz-based firm files plaint of cheating

A St Cruz-based firm has lodged a complaint with the Cyber Crime Cell of Goa Police accusing unidentified cyber criminals of fleecing Rs 12.75 lakh on the pretext of offering a dealership of a reputed company.

As per the complaint, the cyber criminals claimed they were employees of an ITC company while offering the deal. Cybercrime has registered an offence. Meanwhile, the ITC has displayed a fraud alert on its official website cautioning people that they should not fall prey to fraud committed using the company's name and brands.

Secunderabad youth held with drugs

PANAJIThe Crime Branch (CB) sleuths have arrested a Secunderabad youth for allegedly possessing drugs. The 25-year-old identified as Yeshwant Reddy was caught red-handed with 2.2 gms of MDMA powder during a raid at Siolim early Tuesday morning. He was eventually arrested under relevant sections of the NDPS ACT. The contraband substance is worth Rs 25,000 in the international market. The raiding team also seized a two-wheeler used by the alleged peddler.
