Amid concerns over the sound pollution in the coastal belt, Superintendent of Police (North Goa) Nidhin Valsan has assured that all stringent measures will be in place to crack down on the violators, and also guarantee safety of the people.

TG: What measures are being taken to tackle noise pollution given that a lot of parties are lined up along this coastal belt for Christmas and New Year, particularly in residential areas?
NV: In coastal belt, statutory rules regarding sound will be enforced.
TG: How many police personnel will be stationed at each mega party venue, and will they have alcometers and drug detection kits. if so, how many?
NV: Staff will be deployed in coastal areas depending upon the crowd and apprehension of law and order. Ten alcometers with local police and an additional number will be used by the traffic police. For Sunburn, drug detection teams comprising of Crime Branch, Anti Narcotics Cell and forensic narcotics experts will be present at the venue.
TG: Will the dept also keep a check on drunken driving?
NV: Traffic police and local police together will ensure that no traffic rules are violated.
