Trainer held for sexually abusing teenage boy

The Women Police have arrested a self-defence trainer for allegedly sexually abusing a teenage boy on the pretext of medical check-ups on various occasions over a period of one year. The trainer, hailing from Bicholim, was booked after an NGO lodged a complaint soon after the victim’s family narrated the ordeal to its members.
As per the complaint to the Women & Children's Protection Unit, the trainer, also a founder of a self-defence training institute “took advantage of his position and on the pretext of medical check up on several occasions sexually abused his student, who is a minor.” The offence occurred from November 2021 to August 2022 and on October 30, 2022. An offence under section 377 (unnatural offences) of the Indian Penal Code, and relevant sections of the Goa Children’s Act and Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act, is registered against him.
