Trend changing, govt schools preferred over aided: CM

Panaji: 


The Chief Minister Pramod Sawant today pointed out the changing trend wherein the government run schools are preferred over aided institutions. 


He said that the trend of going for aided schools is slowly changing, considering the efforts put in by the government to give priority to state run schools. 



He was speaking at an event where he handed over Springboard tablets to students from rural areas. 


Sawant called this initiative a crucial step in closing the digital divide and improving digital skills among students. “This program is reaching an important group”children in rural areas,” he said. 


He highlighted how technology is now a vital part of education and praised Infosys Springboard for offering quality educational content in various subjects. “These tools will help our students dream bigger and achieve more,” he added, encouraging them to explore new career opportunities.

PANAJIThe Goa State Expert Appraisal Committee (SEAC) has granted environmental clearance for sand mining in the Mandovi and Zuari rivers.During its meeting in August, SEAC recommended ECs for sand extraction in seven zones in Mandovi River and five zones along Zuari River stretch.  SEAC has said that the  Directorate of Mines and Geology (DMG) will issue permits to individuals, allowing them to extract up to 1,000 cubic meters of sand per year.The sand…
