VASCO
Vasco MLA Krishna Salkar on Saturday said the Vasco Municipal Garden would get a total makeover, due to the CSR initiative of the RNSB (Suvarna Bandekar) group.Speaking to reporters, Salkar appealed to other corporates in the port town to come forward and contribute to beautifying other gardens and develop the city through CSR funds.
"We have taken up work on one of the MMC gardens under CSR funds from the RNSB group. I thank Suvarna Bandekar for not only taking up the garden under CSR activity but taking interest in all planning, right from fencing, painting, the fountain, landscaping, etc. which only shows that people still care for Vasco and are keen to develop it," said Salkar.
He said a fountain has been installed in the garden and is functioning the entire day, while a CCTV is also installed to ensure safety of the garden and its users.
“We have got the fencing and the boundary walls erected and beautified and we have also started FM radio in the garden. We have also illuminated the garden and we will be placing gym equipment.”
“We will provide a good walking space for people and we will start landscaping of the garden by June end. We will also be planting flowering and fruit-bearing saplings with the help of the CSR from the Suvarna Bandekar group, which has not only offered financial help but is also taking personal interest in the garden project," Salkar added.
