Verna police have busted a two-wheeler theft racket and have arrested four persons in the case while also recovering three stolen two-wheelers.Verna police have arrested Faiaz Ahmed Bali (22) and Abhijit Kanure (19) both from Sai Vihar, Velsao, Nadeem Mallik (19) of Zorint, Zuarinagar and Shubham Tahsildar (25) of Prialwaddo, Cansaulim under Section 379 of IPC.
Sources said Nitesh Naik from Sai Vihar colony in Velsao on Monday filed a complaint that some unknown accused person/s had stolen his motorcycle (GA-08-AP-7945).
"During investigation, information was received from the Collem Police Station that the stolen motorcycle was detained and the occupants were apprehended at Collem. Accordingly, both the accused persons were escorted to the Verna Police Station and they were placed under arrest.”
“During further investigation, names of two more accused were revealed and accordingly, they were also apprehended and arrested for the crime. Later, two more two-wheelers, a scooter stolen from Birla area and a motorcycle, were recovered," said the source.
Verna police is carrying out further investigation under the supervision of PI Diago Gracias.
