A youth from Bicholim has been booked on charges of using a pepper spray on a police constable on duty and threatening him with dire consequences.

According to Bicholim police, a police patrol team on Thursday night had summoned two youth for a routine enquiry as they were found moving on a motorcycle at night.

However, the youth on reaching police station took a turn and fled from the site.

Police became suspicious and having noted the two-wheeler registration number, summoned them again at the police station on Friday morning for a routine enquiry and let them go home since nothing was found suspicious.

However, the youth were found to be aggressive following the incident and one of them allegedly threatened police with dire consequences.

Later, one police constable, Pravin Nanoskar, who was present during the enquiry, was on patrol duty at about 12.30 pm, when one youth stopped him at Shirodwadi-Mulgao in Bicholim and used pepper spray on his face, before fleeing from the site.
