Youth dies in mishap at Curchorem

SANGUEM
A youth from Bansai-Curchorem was killed in a road mishap at Kakumoddi-Curchorem late Tuesday night.

According to reports, the incident took place as Om Paresh Bhende (19), son of a prominent businessman and former Chairperson of Curchorem Cacora Municipal Council Paresh Bhende, was on his way back home from Quepem.

While the exact cause of the accident is not known, some locals claimed a buffalo went across the road and the two-wheeler rammed into the buffalo.

Some others claimed that Bhende allegedly lost control of the two-wheeler after going on potholes and his two-wheeler then rammed into some laterite stones stacked by the roadside.

He sustained grievous injuries and died while on the way to a hospital. He was a student of Damodar College Margao and was a studious boy, sources told The Goan.
