Goa Forward Vice-President Durgadas Kamat has said that election officials have told representatives of political parties that the electoral roll updated during the summary revision will be applicable for the ensuing municipal polls.
He, however, said that the election authorities have pointed out that an extract will be pulled from the roll compiled during the summary roll, even though the municipal poll roll will be a different one.
“When we asked the election authorities to shed light on whether the names of voters published after the summary revision will be eligible to cast their vote in the ensuing polls, they answered in the positive. They will remove an extract of the updated roll, but the roll that will be used for the municipal polls will be a different one,” he added.
Durgadas said the officials have informed that the final roll will be published 15 days before the ensuing municipal election.
