Reacting strongly to the promotions, Mahesh Rane, president of Together For Mapusa, alleged that the Departmental Promotion Committee (DPC) had not followed the provisions of the law and that the decisions taken during the meeting were contrary to the Goa Municipal Recruitment Rules.

"The Urban Development department should immediately annul the DPC and conduct a thorough investigation into the circumstances under which these promotions were approved. Appropriate legal action should also be taken against those responsible if any irregularities are found," Rane said.
