SANCOALE
Sr Cloisall Cardozo and Sr Jovita De Souza of the Congregation of the Sisters of the Holy Family of Nazareth, popularly known as Sancoale Sisters, professed their final vows at the hands of Sr Bernard Rodrigues SFN, Mother General of the Congregation, during the Eucharistic celebration held at St Joseph Vaz Sanctuary, Sancoale.
Archbishop of Goa and Daman Cardinal Filipe Neri Ferrão, who presided over the Eucharistic Celebration, delivered a homily on the theme, 'Witnessing Jesus through Charity' and appealed to the faithful to witness Jesus in the Society.
The Prelate encouraged the professed to deepen their relationship with Jesus and to place Him at the centre of their lives. He highlighted Prayer, The Word of God, and the Eucharistic celebration as essential means to nurture this relationship with Jesus and to demonstrate His presence through service to the needy.
Cardinal Ferrão appreciated the Parish Priests and Parishioners of Canacona and Quelossim parishes for giving their two daughters to the congregation and the Church.
Congratulating the nuns who professed their final vows, Sr Berna reminded them of their responsibility and fraternity in the Congregation.
"Our Founder Fr Faustino D'Souza always had concern towards the marginalized and those on the peripheries. So it's our responsibility to carry forward the mission of our Founder and serve the needy keeping in mind the Congregation's constitution."
Sr Flavia Leitão SFN was the liturgical commentator while Fr Ronald Fernandes, Assistant to the Parish Priest at Agassaim, animated the liturgy. Clifford Pereira led the liturgical singing.
Sr Cloisall Cardozo SFN. is the daughter of Amaral Socorro Cardozo and Maria Cardozo of Sheller-Canacona. She completed her school and college studies in Canacona and worked as an Office Assistant for a few years.
Sr Cloisall joined the Congregation of the Sisters of the Holy Family of Nazareth, Sancoale, on June 15, 2014. She made her first profession on May 3, 2018. She has served various communities including St John of the Cross Convent (Sarfona-Sancoale), Sts Peter & Paul Convent (Velsao), Kiran Niketan Primary School (Zuarinagar) and Holy Family Convent, (Sancoale). Currently, she is serving at St Michael’s Convent (Anjuna).
Sr Jovita DeSouza is the daughter of Jacinto Joe De Souza and Joyce De Souza from Velvaddo, Quelossim. She completed her SSC in Sancoale and HSSC in Raia. She did a nursing course from Fr Agnel Ashram, Verna. She joined the Congregation on October 10, 2013. She
made her simple profession on May 3, 2018.
She has served at Holy Family Convent (Sancoale), Nazareth Home (Navelim), and Holy Family Convent (Azra). Presently, she is serving at Nazareth Home (Navelim).
