Moments after the High Court cancelled the Ponda bye-poll, Goa Forward Chief Vijai Sardesai said since the Assembly session was adjourned in special circumstances after the coming into force of the mode code of conduct, the government should convene the House due to the special circumstances with the High Court cancelling the election.
Sardesai said he is of the opinion that that the Assembly should be reconvened and revive the questions tabled by the members. “Since the Assembly was adjourned due to the mode code of conduct, the government should convene the House in view of the cancellation of the Ponda bye-poll. Since the government has already passed the budget, the government can revive the questions raised by the members “, he said.
