Residents of Dovondem in Fatorda have pointed out that they will oppose not just the 294-apartment project in the locality, but also three other mega housing projects proposed in the ward.
A group of residents, along with Adv Seoula Vas, called on Margao Municipal Chief Officer Madhu Narvekar, demanding to know how the real estate developer has still not dismantled the tin sheets erected at the construction site.
When the Chief Officer replied saying the MMC had removed the advertising boards put up at the construction site, the residents demanded that the civic body remove the tin sheets as well within a stipulated period.
Later briefing the media, Adv Vas informed that the MMC has till date not furnished any information about the project under the RTI. She, however, said ward councillor Lyndon Pereira has confirmed with the municipal staff that the project has no construction licence issued by the civic body till date.
The local residents warned that they are strongly opposed to the 294-apartment project as well as three other projects proposed in Dovondem.
