The Anti Narcotic Cell of Goa police arrested 23-year-old local from Mapusa for illegal possession of drugs during a raid conducted behind St Michael’s School, Anjuna.
During the raid, the police apprehended Rishikesh Rao, a resident of Cunchelim, Mapusa, and seized four grams of suspected ecstasy powder worth about Rs 40,000 and 15 grams of suspected hydroponic weed (ganja) valued at around Rs 75,000.
The total value of the seized narcotics is estimated at Rs 1.15 lakh.
An offence has been registered under relevant sections of the NDPS Act at the Anti Narcotic Police Station.
The accused has been arrested, and further investigation is in progress under the supervision of senior ANC officials.
