The long-awaited resurfacing of damaged roads in Dicarpalli village, Velim constituency, has commenced with hot mixing work now underway.

For years, the people of Dicarpalli endured hardships due to poor road conditions caused by repeated digging and delays. The commencement of this project marks a significant relief for the local community.

Speaking on the occasion, Velim MLA Cruz Silva expressed gratitude to the government for approving the work and highlighted that nearly 80 per cent of hot mixing across Velim constituency has already been completed. He acknowledged that certain stretches remain pending due to the narrow width of roads, which require special attention.

The current phase includes the hot mixing of roads in Dicarpalli panchayat, along with balance works in Sarzora and Chinchinim Panchayats within Velim constituency. The total estimated cost of the project stands at Rs 5.5 crore, reflecting the government’s commitment to improving infrastructure and easing the daily commute for residents.
