Goa took part in the third International Ayush Conference and Exhibition at the World Trade Centre in the UAE, with a strong focus on promoting the State as a global wellness destination. The event, organised by Vijnana Bharati (Science India Forum-UAE), will run till February 17.

The conference theme is evidence based AYUSH interventions in mind-body health. The Ministry of Ayush, Government of India, is associated with the event under the patronage of the Embassy of India in the UAE and the Indian Consulate in Dubai.

Goa’s stall, put up by the Department of Information and Publicity through its event agency, drew attention for its eco-friendly concept and design. Director General of Dubai Health Authority, Dr Alawi Alsheikh Ali, visited the pavilion and complimented the State’s presentation of activities in the AYUSH sector.

Director, DIP, Dipak Bandekar, said the participation helped showcase Goa’s growing wellness ecosystem and strengthen its push to diversify tourism through Ayurveda and holistic healthcare. He said the response from professionals, tour operators and investors was encouraging.

The Goa delegation included officials from DIP and the AYUSH directorate, along with senior Ayurvedic practitioners experienced in dealing with international visitors.

Officials said the platform helped build contacts, improve visibility and attract interest in authentic therapies and wellness retreats offered in Goa.
