PANAJI: The Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) has issued a stern directive relieving IAS officer Prasad Lolayekar from the Government of Goa with immediate effect and directing him to report without delay to his new posting in the Andaman & Nicobar Islands.
The order comes soon after IAS officer Sanjit Rodrigues was directed to join his Ladakh posting immediately or face action such as debarment or promotion and disciplinary action for non compliance.
The MHA warned that any officer failing to join the new segment within 15 days of the effective transfer date would be deemed 'Stand Relieved'. The ministry has now enforced this rule and cautioned Lolayekar that any further delay could lead to disciplinary action, debarment from promotion, and other service penalties.
Rodrigues, like Lolayekar, was transferred in September 2024 but has not assumed his new assignment. The MHA has warned that non-compliance in both cases will not be tolerated.
These developments come amid a larger reshuffle of AGMUT cadre officials just last week, which saw the transfer of 6 IAS officers from Goa and the posting of 5 officers to the state.
