Goa Forward chief Vijai Sardesai on Wednesday said political observers should stop painting all regional parties with the same brush just because the Revolutionary Goans Party is hit by internal squabbles.
While declining to comment on the internal politics within the RGP, Sardesai, however, said Goans should not lose hope in regional parties, saying the Goa Forward Party will soon unveil the party’s agenda to secure and achieve the aspirations of the people of Goa.
He further reminded that Goa’s first chief minister Dayanand Bandodkar, who headed the MGP, was responsible for bringing land reforms across the country. “Just because a regional party is fighting its internal problems on social media, one need not paint all regional parties with the same brush,” he said.
He added: “I do not want to go into the issues facing the RGP. I had a bitter experience with RGP chief Manoj Parab. We joined hands at the Diwali eve celebrations before he went to the public saying it was a prank. I do not want to comment on the RGP internal matter since Manoj Parab may tomorrow claim that there were no issues in the RGP and all that happened on social media was a prank.”
He said regionalism and regional parties are the need of the hour in Goa, saying regionalism is the biggest form of self-respect.
