The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Monday lodged a policecomplaint against a lawyer and social activist Aires Rodrigues for posting an obscenepicture of Lord Jesus on a popular social networking website. BJP spokesman Dr.Wilfred Mesquita in his complaint to the Director General of Police (DGP)Kishen Kumar has demanded the immediate arrest of Rodrigues.
As per the post, Rodrigues was condemning the silence of GoaChurch over the reported statement of Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar comparinghis sorrows with Lord Jesus Christ. Rodrigues dared BJP to prove chargesagainst him.
Rodrigues said that the picture posted by him on the socialnetworking website was not of Lord Jesus Christ. “The picture is not of JesusChrist. It is a picture picked up by me from Google and posted,” he said.
“The stoic silence by the Church on this outrageous anddemeaning comparison by the chief minister is deafening. A very sorry state ofaffairs,” the post reads.
