I am writing to express my concern about recent reports of aggressive religious conversion activities in our community. It has been observed that certain groups, with their main centres outside our state, are going door-to-door attempting to convert individuals from their current faith, particularly Roman Catholics. Many have already fallen in their traps and left the Roman Catholic church. While freedom of religion is a fundamental right, it is important that such activities are conducted with respect, transparency, and without coercion or misinformation. The use of deceptive tactics or pressure to influence people’s faith not only disrupts communal harmony but also undermines the personal and spiritual choices of individuals. I urge authorities and community leaders to remain vigilant and ensure that the rights of all citizens are protected. At the same time, the community must be encouraged to stay informed and make decisions based on faith, understanding, and conviction rather than external pressures. Let us work together to preserve peace, respect diverse beliefs, and promote mutual understanding in our society.
