Transport Minister Mauvin Godinho's statement gives a clear indication regarding what is in store for the people of South Goa Constituency if the Dabolim airport is shut for landing of flights. Goa taxi operators will be greatly effected as taxi operators will never be alloted the stand at Mopa because the airport is private. Now the Transport Minister is not ready to sit and discuss with Goa taxi operators and citing the court order and doesn't want to listen to the genuine views of the taxi operators.
The Minister doesn't understand the ground reality faced by the taxi operators as he is aware that the app-based taxis are banned in neighbouring state and he is threatening the taxi operators to mend their ways and accept or join app-based taxi operators or else the Dabolim airport will be shut. This is a clear indication that the Transport Minister is in favour of app-based taxis even though these taxis are not at all feasible in Goa considering that the Goan public hardly use taxis and taxi operators.
