Every time a new DGP leaves Goa, he justifies the increasing crime rate here saying it is much less than other places. So, instead of increasing the bar, he lowers it. This is the risk of bringing in IPS officers whose idea of crime control are based on high crime states. Goa never had beggars and vendors at traffic circles. Even though this is just mushrooming at a lower scale, it can be stopped. But the IPS officers don’t think this is a problem. Why? Other States have this so, it is okay.
