Maiden Wimbledon win is 6th Grand Slam for Iga

Iga Swiatek tamed the demons that were haunting her in quest of her first title on grass by capturing the Venus Rosewater Dish at Wimbledon beating American Amanda Anisimova in a one-sided duel that had the Centre Court in disbelief prevailing 6-0, 6-0 for her sixth career Grand Slam and her maiden Wimbledon title, in a fairy tale encounter that Iga Swiatek dominated right from the start. Seven diamond-encrusted cameos can be described as her seven consecutive round wins while she annexed the elusive Wimbledon crown. It may be noted that no current contestants among women has won 6 Grand Slams, which is a huge achievement now that the women's circuit produces a galaxy of Grand Slam winners who do not win more than 4 titles. In fact in the last 114 years of this tournament, the finals has not produced a result where no game has been won by the vanquished. The appreciative jam packed crowd however gave both Iga Swiatek as well as Amanda Anisimova a standing ovation. Iga became the first Polish player to win Wimbledon ever. A memorable Wimbledon!
